Mr Attaf holds talks with his Finnish counterpart
As part of his official visit to Finland, Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, Ahmed Attaf, held private talks on Thursday in Helsinki with his Finnish counterpart, Foreign Minister Elina Valtonen. The discussions were followed by an expanded working session that included members of both countries’ delegations.
The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss the friendship and cooperation ties between Algeria and Finland and explore ways to strengthen them, building on the success of bilateral political dialogue and joint investment initiatives led by businessmen from both nations.
Both sides emphasized the need to establish institutional mechanisms to foster bilateral cooperation, enhance the legal framework governing Algeria-Finland relations, and promote interaction and communication between business communities of the two countries.
The ministers also addressed regional and international developments, including the situations in the Middle East, the Sahel-Saharan region, and the Russia-Ukraine conflict. They reaffirmed the importance of continued coordination to promote peace, justice, and freedom, uphold the principles of international law, and advance the objectives of the United Nations Charter.
