The Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Lounès Magramane, participated, on behalf of the Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad and African Affairs, Ahmed Attaf, in the emergency ministerial meeting on the serious violations of international law committed by the Zionist occupation against the Palestinian people, organized in Bogota (Colombia) Tuesday and Wednesday.

This emergency meeting is dedicated to examining the latest developments related to the ongoing Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people, in light of the serious and unprecedented evolution that the Palestinian cause is experiencing and the humanitarian crisis that the Palestinian people are facing.

During his speech on this occasion, Magramane called for the intensification of international efforts to end Israeli aggression, by demanding an immediate and permanent ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and forcing the occupier to lift restrictions blocking humanitarian aid.

He also called for protecting the two-State solution through recognition of the independent State of Palestine” and “reviving the political process, by involving the international community in the development and implementation of a serious and credible initiative capable of guaranteeing a just settlement allowing the Palestinian people to establish their independent and sovereign state on the borders of 4 June 1967, with Al-Quds as capital.

The Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs also emphasized on the necessity of demanding accountability from the occupier for the genocide and war crimes and crimes against humanity committed against the Palestinian people,” calling for “putting an end to desperate attempts aimed at liquidating the Palestinian cause through forced displacement and modification of the legal and historical status of Al-Quds.

Magramane concluded his speech by reiterating Algeria’s commitment, under the enlightened leadership of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, to spare no effort to continue defending the Palestinian cause,” highlighting the “diplomatic efforts that Algeria continues to deploy in favor of this just cause, particularly since its accession to the United Nations Security Council.
